Photo by Alayna Garrity MAKE BOLD STRIDES I’ve recently returned from a family vacation in Alaska. We unplugged from cable TV, cell phones and text messages (try to do that with three kids!) for a week to enjoy adventures with nature as a family. We went fishing, clamming and glacier viewing. We went on tours to view whales and other wildlife and we hiked in the magnificent Alaska backcountry. On our hike we encountered some big hills and had to wind around trees and rocks to navigate the terrain. It was beautiful and challenging. We had to watch carefully where we were going, we had to help each other over obstacles and we had to make long, powerful strides to [...]

Moxie! MOXIE: ARE YOU MAKING IT COUNT? I just returned from meetings in Russia where our business is growing to amazing new heights. One of our CIS distributor leaders came up to me at a meeting jammed with distributors, recruits and abundant energy and said, "Welcome, Aaron. Can you feel the moxie here?" Oh yeah. You bet I could. Moxie is a word we've used since the founding days of XANGO. It's something that has set us apart...from our corporate offices our families in the field. Moxie was a XANGO building block...and it's a key ingredient to our global future. What is Moxie? It's a deep-seeded swagger...a distinguished savvy...a genuine confidence and a belief that fuels commitment, action and resilience. It's when you know you're onto something [...]

The Roman god JanusOne of my favorite things about ringing in a New Year is how many people give themselves permission to DREAM again.  It's really something.  Dreams, belief, hope are common messages in my Happy New Year conversations with friends and family and in the social networking posts and emails from other entrepreneurs. Such a wonderful sense of optimism with a new calendar.  It's a wave of inspiration with that stroke of midnight -- a belief that all things are possible again with a new start. As entrepreneurs, inspiration is a pretty powerful asset.  We're driven by our dreams and our vision.  When you run a business, though, you can lose sight of that.  Daily stress and challenges can distract from the feel-good part of why you [...]

Summer is a great time to go back to our roots. Like ours, a lot of families take vacations to familiar locales where they have established memories...whether it's a beach, a cabin or a creek where the fishing is almost legendary. It's important to remember where you come from. And it's a good reminder of the road you've traveled to get to this point in your life...and renew the direction you're headed. I grew up in L.A. Going back brings a flood of memories. It also inspires me. We didn't have a lot growing up. My mom, one of my personal heroes, worked three jobs, including at the Los Angeles Times, to support us. That motivates [...]
