10 years later…XANGO in the spotlight
“XANGO is what happens when the MTV Generation grows up and gets a budget.”
That’s what my friend and partner Gordon Morton told Direct Selling News when they called and asked about writing a spotlight piece as XANGO turns 10.
It’s a great quote. It made me chuckle and it made me think. There’s some deep-seeded truth and wisdom in that quote.
It’s more than the fact that our leaders are bonafide rock stars (they are!), it’s about the fact that, in ten years we’ve learned a powerful truth about XANGO…our appeal, our reach and our story spans generations.
What does that mean? It means that XANGO is one of the few companies in our business where the veteran distributors can call home and the Millennials can feel at home. XANGO is a place where you can find the greatest leaders in our industry and the most promising new talent in the business.
In our decade together we’ve built a brand with pull; a brand that can do something our industry desperately needs — recruit and create the next generation of networkers.
That’s one of the accomplishments this article celebrates. Here are a few other highlights:

- Even after ten years, 43 countries and 1.5 million distributors…our compensation plan is the same as it was in 2002. We developed the best comp plan in the business and we’ve maintained that commitment to our distributors.
- Our comp plan is the same, yet XANGO has kept moving forward with the latest tools and technologies to support the field. Our new mobile app helps distributors explain the comp plan…and it demonstrates XANGO’s dedication to innovation.
- Our packaging has also evolved. We’ve used new technologies and moved to eco-friendly packaging as part of our social purpose. Change for the better!
- FAVAO™, was awarded the 2012 ETHOS Award in the Wellness sub-category and named a Product Innovation category finalist by the Direct Selling Association.
- Even with an award-winning product portfolio, every new market begins where XANGO began — with our Juice that created the category and set a new premium product standard for the industry.
- Over the next 10 years, every product we’ve envisioned will drive the mangosteen story forward. Ultimately, as new research emerges, we’ll combine those innovations with our story.
As I quote in this article: “I’m happy with our success, but one way you’ll never see me is satisfied. I’m driven to make XANGO a better place for more people. Our first 10 years will pale in comparison to what will happen in the next 10 years.”
